Every scene is like a painting. Oldroyd sets the tone in meticulously framed shots, then lets the actors take it from there. And they do it well, especially Florence Pugh in the lead. With small measures a haunting tale is told, and its grey and gray morality adds to the general feel of dissonance perfectly.
